Funfairs Operate all year round in Scotland. Most of these Fairs are operated by Members of the Showmens Guild under a strict code of practice approved by Local Authorities and The Health and Safety Executive. The Scottish Showmens Guild also organise and run Fairs for the benefit of all Showmen of the Guild. Some of these fairs are listed below.
Kircaldy Links Market-18th April The premier street fair of them all with a history dating back over 700 years. During April this massive Funfair stretches nearly a mile along the Kirkcaldy Esplanade in Fife. Open for six days (Wed-Mon) with over 30 large rides and numerous other attractions.
Carlisle Easter Fair- Held in the Devonshirewalk carpark next to the Castle every Easter period.
Hawick- A large Funfair held in the Haugh carpark for two weeks as part of the Common Riding celebrations.
Nairn- One of the premier Highland Games in Scotland is held in Nairn and the Showmens Guild add to the Fun.
Keith-A street Fair in support of the local Highland Show.
Inverkeithing- A smaller street Fair held in the High St of Inverkeithing.
Alva- Another Highland Games spectacle, but this time the Funfair encircles the main arena.
Aboyne Highland Games, held the first Saturday in August. The Fair opens Friday and Saturday.
